Cantorial Work
Nusach, Liturgy, and Personal Expression
A cantor's role goes beyond singing. It means leading the liturgy with confidence, carrying the congregation along, and giving each service its fitting musical expression.
In doing so, I draw on the traditional Nusach, the minhag of the particular community, and the character of the occasion. Traditional prayer melodies form the foundation, while still leaving room for a personal, living interpretation.
It matters to me that a service never feels like a musical performance. The singing should carry the liturgy and fit naturally into the life of the community.

Working Together
In Harmony with Your Community's Tradition
Every community has its own minhag, its familiar melodies, and its own established form of worship. I respect these differences and factor them into the preparation from the very start.
Liturgical order, musical shaping, and any special requests are discussed personally with the rabbinate, the community board, or the family. If a choir or additional musical accompaniment is planned, that collaboration is coordinated in advance as well.
The result is never a pre-packaged performance, but a shaping that fits the occasion and the particular community.

Background
Cantorial Experience from Vienna and Central Europe
I was born in Vienna and raised in a Chassidic household. Prayers, traditional melodies, and going to synagogue were a natural part of my life from an early age.
I spent five years at a yeshiva in Israel, deepening my knowledge of Jewish teaching, history, and tradition.
After returning to Vienna, I sang for ten years as a tenor in the choir of the Great Synagogue under Oberkantor Shmuel Barzilai. There I trained in Nusach and began performing as a chazan and singer in Jewish communities across Austria and Germany.
Since 2018, I have served as cantor in Graz, and since 2023 as cantor of Salzburg as well.
Austria & International
At Home in Austria – Working Internationally
From Vienna, I'm available for services and religious ceremonies throughout Austria and internationally.
Whether as a guest cantor for a single occasion, as coverage for a defined period, or for the long-term accompaniment of a community: the liturgical and organizational framework is coordinated personally in advance.
